Pimlico
Pimlico is one of the two girls’ Houses at Durham School and dates from 1985 when the first girls were admitted to Durham School (into the Sixth Form). It currently caters for around 60 girls from Years 7 to 11, some 25 of whom are part-time, weekly or full boarders. Pimlico is conveniently situated, a couple of minutes’ walk from the main school buildings and next door to our other girls’ House, MacLeod. The boarders are housed in cosy and homely study bedrooms and the atmosphere in the House is relaxed and friendly.Pimlico has a resident Housemaster and Housemistress in overall charge of the House (a very experienced husband and wife team), a Junior Housemistress who is in charge of the pastoral care of the girls in Years 7 and 8, a resident House tutor who helps with the boarding duties and a non-resident House Matron whose principal role is to be in charge of the domestic side of the House but who also contributes greatly to the pastoral care of the girls in the House.Housemistress

Testimonials
"When you join the school, you get a buddy who is there to help you around the House and she is just like a big sister. I found that I soon made friends with all the other girls in MacLeod and many of the Pimlico girls. So settling in was not as scary and hard as I thought it would be - it was actually quite fun!
